Preparation underway for Rabi agro-forestry pilot

CleanStar's field operations director Ashok Pawar is preparing our main field demonstration site in Rapewadi village in Beed district (photo above) for a new agro-forestry pilot project this Rabi season.

This project will evaluate the viability of planting of a mix of hardy local crops and grasses in between existing trees on this site.

AWARENESS & ADVOCACY

Archana Devar attends Teacher Training Workshop for projects on Climate Change

The workshop was conducted as a part of the International Climate Challenge Project managed by our friends at the Centre for Development Education.

The workshops led by Subbalakshmi Kumar and Jayashree Inbaraj  helped 20 teachers from 10 junior colleges in Pune design action projects related to climate change that will be carried out by their students this year.

Archana's introduction of CleanStar Trust's Environment Education programs was greeted with many requests for support including involving students in practical field work, interactions with rural farmers, and student workshops for making fuel!

CleanStar is sustainability partner for India's first major Green Jobs Fair in New Delhi

The Climate Project India and the Sierra Club organised India's first major Green Jobs Fair at the Habitat Centre in Delhi last month, attracting and inspiring many highly motivated and talented youth.

CleanStar supported the highly eco-sensitive event by planting 27 long-lived trees.

NEWS FROM OUR PARTNERS

Regenastar wins UKTI India Business Award 2009 for "Green Innovation"

Regenastar won big at UK Trade & Investment's glittering India Business Award ceremony, beating heavyweights nominees like Praj Industries and Ashok Leyland.

The award jury noted the game-changing potential of CleanStar & Regenatec's sustainable biofuel solution for helping responsible Indian corporates reduce their carbon emissions and support rural development.

This award comes hot on the heels of the "Most Promising Venture" accolade given by venture capitalists at the CleanTech Forum XIX in Mumbai.
